Alexandra Lange reviews01 Foreclosed: Rehousing the American Dream, an exhibition co-organized by the Museum of Modern Art and the Temple Hoyne Buell Center for the Study of American Architecture that opened on February 15 at MoMA. Lange describes the exhibition as being potentially too ambitious, wondering whether the architects should have been stopped before designing new towns "which end up looking and sounding a lot like new Brooklyns," but appreciating the willingness of all five teams to go beyond the aesthetics of the problem. (See also Diana Lind's more outspoken critique of the exhibition here02.)
