Five years after abandoning plans to build a new architecture center designed by Kennedy & Violich Architecture01, Clemson University announced02 that it has chosen Allied Works Architecture 03(Brad Cloepfil, MsAAD '85) and local firm e.e. fava architects04 to design a new permanent home for its Charleston architecture and preservation programs. The vociferously contested05 KVA proposal was ultimately rejected for its scale and its modernism. Hopefully the fact that the local principal served on Charleston's Board of Architectural Review and Clopefil's own experience with preservation battles 06will mean that this new effort gets realized.
